 Southern Air Systems Maintenance, Inc. maintains a 32,000 square foot full service repair facility in Tampa, Florida capable of major airframe inspections, engine hot section inspections as well as refurbishment options. This operation developed out of a need for more control of timetables and pricing of our owner’s aircraft than was available with outside shops. We continually found that both large and small maintenance facilities outside our control lost touch or even much interest in maintaining schedules originally promised. Additionally, original work order cost estimates seemed to have little bearing on the generally much higher final invoice. Compounding the problem is fewer experienced technicians which is resulting in outside shops being more selective of the jobs they want to undertake at any cost resulting in a selective job (“cherry picking”) style of maintenance not conducive to timely scheduling. Additionally, Southern Air Systems Maintenance, Inc. enjoys substantial discounts from vendors on parts prices and outside services due to our volume.
Often with our more distant owners it is not financially feasible to bring their aircraft to Florida for light maintenance and in these cases our services will turn towards developing the best situation for our owner with the outside services locally available and utilizing our maintenance expertise to act as an advocate to our owner for work scope as well as billing issues. Additionally, factory warranted aircraft would be routed through the appropriate manufacturers facility.
Southern Air Systems Maintenance, Inc. services are optional and at the owner’s request. It should not be construed that the owner is obliged to do any or all of their maintenance with Southern Air Systems Maintenance, Inc. ; it is nothing more than an additional resource. Southern Air Systems Maintenance, Inc. has historically saved owners in excess of 30% over other maintenance options over the course of a year.

Maintenance Tracking:
Southern Air Systems utilizes independent companies to provide comprehensive computerized maintenance tracking for all of our managed aircraft. Hence, providing advance notice to the owner of pending maintenance so options and decisions can be made in an orderly fashion verses the fire drill antics that seem to be a standard of ill managed flight departments.
